Hi! We are Brendan and Tinky, the owners of Minori Pantry in Kyogle, Northern NSW. We enjoy healthy food and living and wanted to make it easier for locals to buy bulk foods, wholefoods and healthy options that support local producers and businesses.
We were also tired of working for big organisations and thought “what if we put this much effort into something for us”?
We had thrown the idea around of opening a bulk food shop and cafe for many years. We felt the Northern Rivers region was growing and a shop and cafe like this would offer convenience and choice, not only for immediate locals, but people further afield too.
It came to now or never… let’s go! Let’s do it! After 12 months of planning and setup, we opened in June 2021, expanding the cafe as we went along and we’ve been blown away by the support we have received since then.

We are a husband/wife team who started Minori Pantry from scratch.
Brendan came from a little coastal town on the NSW mid-coast, and went on to have a career as a policeman, federal agent in overseas deployment and a private contractor working in the Middle East.
Tinky came from a sheep and cattle station in Western Queensland, had a career as a registered nurse working in rural and remote QLD and NSW, and was an Emergency nurse at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and a clinical nurse at Retrieval Services Brisbane for the RFDS & rescue choppers.
We have a love for Italy, eloped in Tuscany, then honeymooned on the Amalfi Coast by a little seaside village called Minori. It evokes many happy memories.
Upon return to Australia after living overseas, we purchased acreage at Kyogle. It needed a name, so ‘Minori Farm’ it was! This later lead to Minori Honey for our very own honey, so Minori Pantry seemed like a natural progression.
We have since discovered Minori is also a Japanese word meaning fruitful harvest… Beautiful!
